Blueberry Apple Crisp
Recipe By : Taste of Home Yearbook, 1998
Serving Size : 12
4 cups tart apples -- sliced and peeled
2 cups blueberries -- fresh or frozen
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour -- divided
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 egg -- beaten
1/2 cup butter or margarine -- melted
whipped cream -- optional
Place the applesin a grased 11 x 7 x 2inch baking dish. Top with blueberries. Combine brown shugar and 2 Tablespoons of flour; sprinkle over fruit. Combine sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and remaining flour.Stir in egg with fork until mixtureis crumbly. Sprinkle over fruit; drizzle with butter. Bake at 350 for 55-60 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm; top with whipped cream if desired.
