Recipe: Bourbon Burgers, Field and Stream Stuffed Burgers for Darlene, Ohio

Sandwiches
Hi Darlene :-) Here are 2 recipes that I found on the internet. I have not tried either recipe. I hope that one of them is what you are looking for.

Bourbon Burgers

1/2 cup Jim Beam Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
1 cup Seasoned croutons
1 1/2 lb Extra-lean ground beef
1 1/2 tsp Yellow mustard
1 tsp Ketchup

In medium-size bowl, soak croutons in Jim Beam until all liquid is gone, making sure croutons are completely saturated and soggy. Add beef, mustard, and ketchup and mix well. Form into patties. Cook on a medium-hot grill.
This recipe yields 4 to 5 burgers.

Field and Stream Stuffed Burgers
Yield: 8 servings

2 lb ground round
2 eggs
1 cup sweet pickle relish
3/4 cup onion, coarsely chopped
3 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 oz bourbon (optional)
2 garlic cloves minced
1/4 cup green bell pepper, chopped (optional)
1/2 cup bacon, cooked & crumbled (optional)
salt & pepper to taste

Mix onion, relish, Worcestershire sauce, and any of the optional ingredients you wish to use, together. Be sure to get the eggs mixed in completely. Roll meat out and make 16 thin patties. Spoon the pre-made mixture upon the top of one patty. Place another patty on top. Press firmly to join them. Wipe up the mixture that runs out of the patty stack and spread over the
top of the patty stack.

Either broil in your oven until they are as you prefer them or on a barbecue grill as you see fit.
