Recipe: California Cake 2

California Cake

1 large orange
1 cup raisins
1/3 cup walnuts
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening, softened
1 cup milk
2 eggs

Rinse raisins in hot water and grind with orange and walnuts. Food processor will work.

Sift dry ingredients.

Add shortening and 3/4 cup milk and beat 2 minutes.

Add eggs and remainder of milk, beat and add orange mixture.

Bake in 8x12 pan at 350 degrees for 40 - 50 minutes
