CASHEW YUMMIES
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped salted cashews
FOR THE TOPPING:
2 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup chopped cashews
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 tablespoons half-and-half
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9-inch square pan.
Combine sugar, brown sugar and eggs. Mix well. Stir in flour, baking powder and cashews. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
TO MAKE THE TOPPING:
Melt butter. Remove from heat. Add cashews, brown sugar and half-and-half. Mix well. Spread baked bars immediately with topping.
Broil about 12 inches from heat for 1 or 2 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
