CHEESE-ARONI SKILLET
1/2 cup butter
1 (7 oz.) package (2 cups) elbow macaroni, uncooked
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon oregano, crumbled
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
2 cups water
1 tablespoon flour
1 2/3 cups evaporated milk
2 Tablespoons chopped pimiento
1/2 lb. sharp cheddar cheese, shredded (approximately 2 cups)
Melt butter in a 9 or 10-inch skillet. Add uncooked macaroni, onion, green pepper, salt, pepper, oregano and mustard; cook for 10 minutes.
Add water and bring to a boil; cover and simmer 15 minutes longer or until macaroni is tender.
Gradually sprinkle flour over macaroni; blend well. Stir in evaporated milk, pimiento and shredded cheese; cook until cheese is completely melted, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes longer.
Serve immediately.
