Recipe: Cherry-Nut Cheese Ball Mix

Cherry-Nut Cheese Ball Mix

Makes about 2 1/2 cups mix, enough for 2 cheese balls

1 1/4 Cups dried cherries
1 1/4 cups finely chopped walnuts
2 tsp. ground ginger, divided
Vanilla wafers to serve

In a medium bowl, combine cherries and walnuts. Place about 1 1/4 Cups cherry mixture into each of 2 small airtight containers. Spoon 1 tsp. ginger into each container and seal. Give with recipe for making cheese ball.

To make one cheese ball: Combine 1 1/4 Cups mix with 1 (8-oz.) pkg. soft cream cheese. Shape into a ball; wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm.

To serve: let stand at room temperature 20 to 30 minutes, or until softened. Serve with vanilla wafers.
