Recipe: Cinnamon Applesauce (using cinnamon red hot candies) (canning recipe)

Preserving - Fruit
That is all there is to it.

CINNAMON APPLESAUCE

Peel, cook your apples, adding a little water if necessary so they don't scorch, either mash the apples with a potato masher or use a food mill, etc. Then heat, adding sugar to taste, and as many red hot cinnamon candies to your taste.

Put into clean, hot jars, remove air bubbles by running a small spatula down the inside of the jars. Wipe the sealing surface of the jars with a clean moist towel or paper towels. Put on the lids that have been heated in simmering water (don't boil or the seal gets too soft). Place on the rings, just finger tip tight.

Place in a boiling water bath with the water up over the jars by 1-2 inches, cover with the lid, and count processing time from when it comes to a boil. Process pints 15 min. quarts 20 minutes.
