Recipe: Crab Cheese Wontons (using cream cheese)

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (6 ounce) can white lump crabmeat, drained (or fresh)
1 to 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onions
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 clove garlic, minced
1 package wonton wrappers (about 40)
2 cups cooking oil (for frying)
Sweet and sour sauce or chutney (for serving)
Combine cream cheese, crabmeat, onions, lemon juice, and garlic.
In center of wonton wrapper, place about a heaping teaspoon of crabmeat mixture. Moisten each side of wonton with water (or according to directions on wonton wrappers) and fold over to resemble a crescent. Press edges to seal. Cover and refrigerate immediately.
Heat oil in wok. Fry wontons, 6 at a time. Fry 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
Serve with sweet and sour sauce or chutney for dipping.
