Recipe: Easy Chocolate Cookies (thin drop cookies, taste like brownies)

1 1/4 cups butter or margarine, softened
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour, unsifted
3/4 cup Hershey's unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup nuts, finely chopped (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cream butter or margarine and the sugar in large bowl. Add eggs and vanilla; blend well.
Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; blend into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts, if desired. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 9 minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE!! (Cookies will be soft. They will puff during baking, flatten upon cooling.) When you remove from oven, cool on cookie sheet until set, about 1 minute; remove to wire rack to cool completely. Can sprinkle with powdered sugar or even frost if desired.
