the are picked over and all stems, leaves and bad berries are removed. I don't know how you freeze them, but I have found that if you spread them out, not crowded, on a cookie sheet with sides, put them in the freezer overnight and package them the next day, they tend not to stick to each other this way, and you can take out as much as you like each time.
I would also suggest vacuum sealing them rather that boxes or plastic bags. They last longer. HTH
