BLUEBERRY MUFFIN BREAD
FOR A 1 1/2-POUND LOAF:
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
3 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons margarine or butter, cut up
3 cups bread flour
3 tablespoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon active dry yeast or bread machine yeast
1/3 cup dried blueberries
Powdered Sugar Glaze, optional (recipe follows)
FOR A 2-POUND LOAF:
1 cup milk
1 egg
1/4 cup water
3 tablespoons margarine or butter, cut up
4 cups bread flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast or bread machine yeast
1/2 cup dried blueberries
Powdered Sugar Glaze, optional (recipe follows)
Select loaf size. Add all ingredients, except the powdered sugar glaze, to the machine according to manufacturers directions. Select the basic white bread cycle.
If desired, drizzle cooled loaf with powdered sugar glaze.
POWDERED SUGAR GLAZE
1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
(1 to 2 teaspoons) milk
In a small mixing bowl, stir together powdered sugar and enough milk to make a glaze of drizzling consistency.
