Recipe(tried): Freezing garlic in oil

I freeze garlic in cooking oil (olive or canoli). When I get ready to use it, I put it in the microwave for a few seconds to melt the oil off, thaw and use as fresh. If I am sauteing, I use the oil from the garlic.
