Recipe: Good Barbecue Sauce (using tomato sauce, molasses, brown sugar and soy sauce)
Toppings - Sauces and GraviesHi Lona... I found this recipe among some that were shared by friends. Another way to add soy sauce to barbeque sauce.
GOOD BARBEQUE SAUCE
1 1/3 cups cider vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 cup brown sugar
1 pint (2 cups) tomato sauce
2 tablespoons dry mustard
1 cup water
1 tablespoon salt
pepper to taste
1 tablespoon onion salt
1/4 cup molasses
1 tablespoon liquid smoke
Add all of the ingredients in a pot large and deep enough to limit splattering. Simmer (don't boil) on stove top for about an hour, stirring occasionally.
Brush on chicken pieces or pork spareribs; put on the grill or in a smoker.
