Recipe: Haunkkah Sugar Cookies

HANUKKAH SUGAR COOKIES

1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) margarine, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 egg
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. wheat germ, any flavor
1 tsp. baking soda
Granulated sugar tinted blue and/or
blue and white frosting

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Combine powdered sugar, oleo, vanilla, almond extract and egg. Stir in flour, wheat germ and soda.

Divide dough in half on lightly floured surface. Pat and roll dough 1/4 inch thick.

Using 2 to 2 1/2 inch cookie cutters, cut into holiday shapes. If desired, sprinkle with colored sugar.

Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool. Frost with blue and white frosting.

Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
