Recipe(tried): How to Freeze Pies

Desserts - Pies and Tarts
Hello Meg - I've never made the zucchini apple pie, but have made plenty of apple pies for the freezer. My method is to make 'em, bake 'em, let them cool, then wrap in foil to be airtight for freezing.

When you want the pie, just put it in the oven (not preheated) turn oven to 350 degrees F and let it thaw and warm for about 25 minutes - it will taste just like it's freshly made.

For years, I tried to freeze pies unbaked and was always dissatisfied with how the bottom crust would be soggy, but my old aunt, the world's best pie maker from Peshtigo, WI, taught me about baking them first, then freezing. She was right!

Hope this helps you. June
