TUNA AND CORN JAFFLES

4 large slices bread
Reduced fat spread or margarine
6 oz tuna chunks in brine, drained
4 oz corn kernels, drained
6 oz tasty cheese, grated
2 tablespoons chopped shallots

Lightly spread bread slices with margarine or reduced fat spread and turn over. Place tuna chunks evenly on top of 2 slices of bread and top with corn kernels, grated cheese and shallots. Cover each with the remaining 2 slices of bread, the margarine surfaces facing out. Place sandwiches in a pre-heated jaffle maker and cook until golden. Makes 2 jaffles.

Bread
Apple Mixture:
Pie Apple
Little sugar
Cinnamon

Mix Apple Mixture Together.
Use day old bread - butter each side.
Place 1 slice into sandwich maker, fill with apple mixture top with 2nd slice and toast in sandwich maker 2 to 3 minutes.

Basic Sandwich maker Pie

2 slices of bread
1 tbs butter or margerine
2 tbs canned pie filling, any flavor

Butter one side of the bread slices. Place one slice, buttered side down. Place the pie filling in the middle of this slice of bread, and cover with the other slice, buttered side up. close and clamp. Most bread slices will stick out of the machine to varying degrees. This may be trimmed off or not, as the cook wishes.

JAFFLE PIZZA

2 slices bread
2 Tbsp pizza sauce
slice of mozzarella cheese
pepperoni slices
mix of diced onion, peppers, and mushrooms

Butter bread, place bread butter side down in sandwich maker, spread with pizza sauce, cheese slice, spread with diced onions, peppers and mushrooms, and pepperoni, top with other bread slice, close iron and cook.

Fruit Turnovers

1 can of refrigerated crescent rolls
1 can of fruit flavored pie filling
Cinnamon sugar
margarine

Place a small amount of margarine in each of the sandwich maker wells. Preheat about 5 minutes. Divide rolls into 4 rectangles; take each rectangle and pinch the perforation closed. Cut each rectangle in half, making 8 squares. Place one square on each side of the sandwich maker. Top with about 1 tablespoon of pie filling, cover with another square of pastry. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, close maker, and cook about 3 minutes. (Note: these come out quite dark and the filling is very hot.)

CORN BREAD - SANDWICH MAKER

1 egg
1-1/4 cups milk
1/4 cup melted shortening or vegetable oil
1/3 cup sugar
2 cups self rising corn meal

Beat egg. Mix wet ingredients with sugar. Add corn meal. Pour into preheated and greased (with spray) sandwich maker. Cook 4-5 minutes. Makes approximately 10-12 corn muffins quickly!
BUTTERMILK CORNBREAD
Follow recipe for corn bread except omit egg and substitute 1 1/2 cups buttermilk for milk.

BABY ELEPHANT EARS

1 can refrigerated crescent rolls
Butter or margarine
Cinnamon sugar

1. Preheat sandwich maker.
2. Unroll crescent rolls and separate the 4 large rectangles. Take each rectangle and press the diagonal perforation closed, making 4 solid rectangles.
3. Cut each rectangle in half, making 8 squares. Place one square on each side of the sandwich maker.
4. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
5. Close and lock lid. Cook approximately 2-3 minutes or to desired browness. Repeat with remaining pastry. Makes 8 elephant ears.

MCDONALD'S APPLE PIE CLONE

Peel core and chop as much apple as you think you will need.
Place apple, 1 tsp. butter and sugar to taste in a microwave safe dish.
Add 1 tbsp. of water, cover with plastic wrap and cook a few minutes or until just cooked through.
OR
Place the sugar, butter and apple in a saucepan with a little water and cook until just cooked through.
Thicken the juices a little with some cornstarch (cornflour) mixed with cold water.
Be sure not to make too much juice.
Preheat sandwich maker machine.
Cut one slice of store bought Puff pastry into 2 halves.
Butter one side of the 1/2 slice of the pastry and repeat with the other 1/2 slice.
Place one piece of the pastry buttered side down in the toaster.
Fill the hollows with the cooked apple.
Place the other piece of pastry on top, buttered side up.
Close lid and wait until golden brown.
Serve when as soon as cool enough to handle.

USE OF PASTRY.
Ready made pastry sheets such as puff and shortcrust are ideal for making quick and easy desserts.
1. Simply place one half of the pastry sheet onto the cooking plate of your pre-heated Snack Maker.
2. Form a hollow and spoon in your choice of pie filling*
3. Top with remaining pastry half and close the lid.
4. Cook until golden brown.
* Use jam or jelly instead of pie filling and make your own Pop-Tarts.

Use two thin hamburger patties instead of bread. Fill with cheese, mushrooms, onions, mustard, or whatever you can think of. OR Fill with Swiss cheese and mushrooms.
