MAN-SIZED DOUBLE-CHOCOLATE COOKIES
Cake-Like Cookies.

1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
2 1/2 squares (2 1/2 ounces) unsweetened chocolate
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup sour cream or buttermilk

Melt butter and chocolate together slowly in a saucepan. Remove from heat. Add sugar and mix thoroughly. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well; set aside.

Sift together flour, baking powder and baking soda. Stir the dry ingredients and the sour cream alternately into the saucepan mixture.

When batter is well mixed, drop large tablespoonfuls about 2-inches onto a cooky sheet.

Bake in moderate oven (350 degree F) about 15 minutes. Cool, then frost with Chocolate Frosting.

Makes 18 cookies (about 3-inches across)
