Recipe(tried): Marinated Cabbage Salsa

Hi, this is what we make at home. My wife is a Michoacana.

Marinated Cabbage Salsa (wife insists is salad)

1 small head or 1/2 average head of cabbage,shredded
1 or 2 roma tomatoes, diced
1 or 2 pickled jalapenos (with carrots in the pic),finely diced
2 or 3 scallions or 1/2 small onion finely diced
1/2 bunch cilantro, finely chopped
1 persian lime (regular) or 2 or 3 limon's (little limes), juiced
scant 1/2 tsp salt, add to taste
splash of jalapeno juice

mix well and rest 1 hour or more. If you prefer more heat add the jalapeno juice to taste. I prefer the lime juice in mine, however my wife says it makes the cabbage rubbery and leaves it out. Most mexican home recipes are very individual so quantities of ingredients vary by taste. Be brave. E
