Recipe: Mint Tea Juleps and Homemade Mint Syrup

FOR THE MINT SYRUP:
3/4 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
2/3 cup coarsely chopped fresh mint
FOR THE TEA:
4 cups boiling water
4 Lipton cup size tea bags
Ice (for serving)
TO MAKE THE MINT SYRUP:
In small saucepan, bring 3/4 cup water, sugar and mint to a boil. Cook, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and cool.
TO MAKE THE TEA:
Meanwhile, in teapot, pour 4 cups boiling water over tea bags; cover and brew 5 minutes. Remove tea bags; cool.
To serve, strain mint syrup, then stir into brewed tea. Serve over ice.
Makes 5 servings (8 ounces each)
