Recipe: Banana Split Ice Cream Pie (freeze ahead)

BANANA SPLIT ICE CREAM PIE

1 (6 ounce) ready-to-use graham cracker or chocolate piecrust
2 bananas
1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened
FOR SERVING:
1/2 cup hot fudge sauce
Whipped cream
Maraschino cherries
Chopped nuts, optional

Slice bananas and lay them out in the bottom of the piecrust. Scoop out the softened ice cream and spread it evenly over the bananas. Freeze the pie for at least 2 hours to harden the ice cream.

TO SERVE:
Let the pie sit out for about 5 minutes prior to serving so it is easier to cut. Set out the hot fudge sauce, whipped cream, cherries, and nuts so each person can top their own slice of pie.

Makes 1 pie and about 8 servings
