Molasses Cake
Source: Russell Fletcher (family recipe)

1/2 cup molasses
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
3 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup boiling water

Mix molasses, sugar, egg, and oil. Add flour and mix. In separate bowl mix boiling water and baking soda, and then mix that into other ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes in 9 x 9 glass pan.
