Recipe(tried): Mom's Raisin Dressing
Misc. This is the dressing we always had in the turkey for Thanksgiving. Extra dressing baked the last half hour or so in a casserole. We never really measured the ingredients so I've tried to give approximates, this should be enough for a casserole, if you want to use it to stuff a turkey you would need to multiply the ingredients.
Mom's Raisin Dressing
to 1 loaf white bread
1 onion, chopped
4 stalks celery, chopped
butter
poultry seasoning to taste
salt and pepper to taste
chicken broth
raisins
Tear bread into pieces. (This can be done the day before). Saut onion and celery in butter. When tender put into a large bowl and add poultry seasoning, salt and pepper and raisins. Stir well. Add enough chicken broth to make desired consistency. Turn into a baking dish that has been sprayed with Pam. Cover and bake in a preheated 350 degree F. oven for about 25 to 30 minutes or until hot throughout. You can uncover the last 10 minutes or so if dressing seems too wet.
