Recipe: Nutburgers (Waring Blender Cook Book, 1958)

NUTBURGERS

3 slices bread, broken
1 cup milk
1 egg
1 slice onion
1 diced carrot or celery stalk
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups walnuts
4 tablespoons butter

Place in bread, broken into pieces, in blender container. Cover, blend a few seconds, remove crumbs to bowl.

Place all remaining ingredients except butter in blender container. Cover and blend about 30 seconds, until nuts are chopped.

Add to crumbs and shape into 8 patties.

Heat butter in skillet. Brown patties 5 minutes each side.

Serves 4 to 8
