Recipe: The Blender Omelet with Six Variations (Waring Blender Cook Book, 1958)

Breakfast and Brunch
THE BLENDER OMELET

"Fluffy, almost crepe-like, with new flavor built in, and infinite variety."

Place ingredients for the omelet of your choice (below) in Blender container, in order listed. Blend 1 to 3 seconds, just until ingredients are mixed. Do not over-blend.

Preheat 6-inch omelet pan with 1 tablespoon butter, until butter foams. Pour contents of container in hot pan, cook over moderate heat, pushing edges back to let uncooked portion run down. When set, fold over, serve.

CHEESE OMELET
2 tablespoons sour cream
2 tablespoons, diced cheddar cheese
2 eggs
salt and ground black pepper

COTTAGE CHEESE OMELET
1/4 cup creamed cottage cheese
1 thin slice onion
2 stuffed olives, cut
2 eggs

SHRIMP OMELET
2 tablespoons tomato juice or water
2 tablespoons cut up cooked shrimp
dash worcestershire sauce
salt and ground black pepper
2 eggs

HERB OMELET
2 tablespoons milk or buttermilk
2 sprigs parsley, broken
green onion, sliced
2 eggs
salt and ground black pepper

HAM OMELET
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons diced ham
salt and ground black pepper
2 eggs

BANANA OMELET
small banana, sliced
dash salt
2 eggs
brown sugar (for topping)

Yield for all recipes: 1 generous serving
