OLD-TIME CORNBREAD
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
3 tablespoons lard, melted (or bacon grease)
1 1/2 cups cornmeal
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
Beat eggs, buttermilk and lard together. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
Pour into greased 11x7x2-inch baking pan.
Bake in hot (400 degrees F) oven about 30 minutes.
