Outback Steakhouse Tangy Tomato Dressing
1 cup ketchup
2 tbsp. tomato sauce (to match color - an additional amount of ketchup will do)
1/2 cup dark or light corn syrup (makes no difference, light or dark)
5 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1/2 tsp. cayenne
Whisk ingredients until well blended, refrigerate.
Makes about 1 1/2 cups (12 oz.) for about $1.25.
Adjust amounts of pepper and cayenne to taste.
I adapted the above recipe to my taste as follows:
Reduce sugar to none and add:
1/4 cup of V-8 (Clamato/Snappy Tom would work also)
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. creamy horseradish
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire
1 cup ketchup
