Recipe: Plum Barbeque Sauce (2)

Toppings - Sauces and Gravies
I couldn't find the plum-raspberry barbeque sauce recipe you wanted on the Internet. You could try to experiment with one of the following recipes adding perhaps raspberries, raspberry vinegar, or jam/marmalade? I am not a barbeque expert so I will leave this one to the many that are :)

You could experiment by adding the raspberries to this or any other plum barbeque sauce recipe. Good luck!

PLUM BARBEQUE SAUCE

1/4 cup plum marmalade
1 onion
1 clove garlic, finely minced
2 tsp vegetable oil
1/2 cup red wine
1/8 cup red wine vinegar
3 tbsp french mustard
3 tsp chili sauce
2 tbsp tomato ketchup

If the marmalade has large fruit pieces puree.

Saute the onion and garlic in a little oil in a saucepan.

Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for about 10 minutes.

PLUM BARBEQUE SAUCE

5 pounds plums, washed, pitted, quartered
3 cups apple juice
1 cup red wine vinegar
2 cups chopped onions
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 ( 8 oz. ) cans tomato sauce
1 1/2 cups dark molasses
1 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
1/4 cup cider vinegar
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 teaspoon ground ginger

In a large pot, combine plums, juice, red wine vinegar, onions, garlic and lemon juice. Cook over medium-high heat until plums soften and mixture boils.

Puree mixture in food processor and return to pot.

Add remaining ingredients and bring to a full boil. Simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours on medium-low until thickened, stirring frequently. Store in refrigerator.

About 5 1/2 pints
