Recipe: Recipes Using Maple Syrup

Maple Syrup Pie

1/2 cup sugar
1 cup maple syrup
1/3 tsp. salt
1 T. flour
2 eggs.
1 tsp. vanilla
1 T. butter
1/2 c. nuts

Beat first five ingredients, then add vanilla, butter and nuts. Stir all and bake in an unbaked pie shell at 350 deg. until set.


Maple Chiffon Pie

4 egg yolks
1/3 cup milk
4 egg whites
1 c. chopped nuts
1 pie shell
1/3 c. maple syrup
1 tsp. butter
1 tsp. gelatin
1/3 cup sugar
Dissolve gelatin in a small amount of cold water, mix maple syrup, milk, egg yolks and butter. Cook in double boiler until thick. Add gelatin, remove from heat. Beat to smooth consistancy. Add chopped nuts and cool. Beat egg whites until stiff and add sugar slowly. Fold into maple mixture. Do not beat. Turn into a baked pie shell. Refrigerate. Top with whipped cream.


Maple squares

1/2 c. melted butter
1 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
Mix above three ingredients. Press into an 8 inch greased pan, bake at 350 deg. for 15 min.
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 cup maple syrup
2 beaten eggs
1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. walnuts
1/2 tsp. maple flavoring
3 T. flour

Combine brown sugar and syrup in saucepan and bring to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes . Remove. Let cool for 15 min. Then add beaten eggs and the rest of the ingredients and mix. Pour over first preparation and bake for 25 - 30 minutes ant 350 deg. let cool and cut in squares.
