Recipe: Recipes using sour oranges - A friendly reminder to y'all about sour oranges (naranja agria)
Recipe CollectionsSome time ago, we had a lengthy thread about sour oranges (click here), great for meat and fish marinades...they are only available for a short window of time.
That window is open now! I know Gina has posted a recipe (probably more than one) for pork chops using naranja agria (Tia's Ara Delectable Pork Chops) - (Orange Mustard Glazed Stuffed Pork Chops). Here, we love it on fish: squeeze liberally onto fish (have not tried salmon, I am talking about any less-than-exciting frozen white whatever, like pollock, for eg.), add a bit of olive oil, and a pinch of Italian Spices and some salt, let marinate for 1/2 hour, and bake for 20 minutes at 425.
We just love it!
p.s. that's right from frozen, no defrosting. If your fish is not frozen, reduce cooking time, probably by half.
note to self: try with salmon this week!
Cheers!
Carolyn!
