Actually, I know a bit about those special sour oranges!

No disrespect to your awesome cooking talents, Jeanne, but, in my humble opinion, the orange Gina specified has a unique and inimitable flavour.

In Spanish we call it "naranja agria", but it is not the Seville. It has very ugly wrinkly looking skin. It is just awesome for cooking, and marinating. If you can find it, you will not disagree with me, I am sure!

In Vancouver, I get it at a fruit market. I think it is available in January/February, don't ask me why, or where it comes from.

I think your best bet may be an ethnic market, otherwise...go with Jeanne's suggestion. But, the real thing is truly a cut above!

ps when I find them here, I always make a few things with them, while I have the chance. Those sour oranges sure keep my husband sweet, go figure!
