Sausage Breakfast Bread

1 cup raisins
1 lb. pork sausage
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
3 cups plain flour
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup cold strong coffee
1 cup nuts, chopped

Simmer raisins in a little water for 4 to 5 minutes. Drain well and set aside. Mix uncooked sausage and sugars until well blended. Add eggs. Mix well. Sift together flour, ginger, baking powder and pumpkin pie spice. Stir soda into coffee. Add flour mixture and coffee alternately to meat mixture, beating well after each addition. Stir in raisins and nuts. Mix well. Pour into greased and floured 9 inch tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Keeps indefinitely in refrigerator. Good served warm or cold.
