This is an easy entree or appetizer that looks fancy. Don't forget to marinate the fish for at least 20 minutes. The marinade is reserved to make a balsamic glaze for the tuna. Serve it with some lightly steamed baby bok choy to complement the colors and flavors of the dish.

5 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons low sodium chicken broth or water
2 green onions, finely chopped
2 tablespoons (about a 2-inch piece) ginger root, peeled and chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
4 (4-ounce each) tuna steaks
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
5 tablespoons white sesame seeds
2 teaspoons canola oil or sesame oil

Combine vinegar, chicken broth, green onions, ginger, and garlic in a bowl. Add the tuna steaks, cover and refrigerate for 20-40 minutes.

Remove tuna from marinade and season with pepper. Reserve the marinade.

Spread sesame seeds out on a plate. Press seeds onto both sides of the tuna steaks, some seeds will be left over.

Heat a nonstick grill pan over high heat. Add oil. Sear the tuna one minute on each side.

Remove from the pan, reduce heat to medium and add the marinating juices. Bring marinade to a boil for a few seconds, until it thickens slightly, and pour over the tuna. Serve immediately.
