Misc. Sesame-Ginger Pork Platter
Here is a cold pork favourite and can be made 24 hours in advance.
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tbsp. cooking oil
1 Tbsp. toasted sesame seed
1 1/2 tsp. grated fresh ginger
6 cloves garlic minced
2 pork tenderloins
Lettuce leaves, green onion strips, red and green grapes, and baguette slices.
Sesame seeds are easy to toast in a hot dry fry pan. over medium heat. Takes about 30 seconds.
Marinade - combine soy sauce. Brown sugar, oil, sesame seed, ginger and garlic. Add to pork in large plastic bag overnight.
Drain reserving marinade. Cover and chill marinade. Place pork on a rack and cover with foil. Bake in 425-degree oven for 20-min. Remove foil and bake another 10 mins. Cover and chill up to 24 hours.
Bias cut into 1/4-inch slices.
To serve arrange pork slices on a lettuce lined platter. Heat marinade to boiling, serve in a small bowl for dipping, and sprinkle with green onion strips. Serve with baguette slices and red and green grapes.
You could also bake a whole turkey and slice it for sandwiches.
Marinated vegetable salads are good and colourful too.
