Recipe(tried): Shepard's Pie - Variation

Main Dishes - Beef and Other Meats
Hi, I have made shepard's pie with a twist. Of course you always brown the burger. I have made a gravy out of water, beef flavored boullion and couple of tablespoons of flour. I then added just a half a can of DRAINED stewed tomatoes. I also have added a corn and lima bean mix before putting the layer of potatoes on. Of course I top with pre-grated monterey jack and sharp cheddar cheeses. I sneak the veggies in for better nutritional value.

I have not tried, but was thinking that after browining the beef, making a beef gravy and adding pinto beans or any type of kidney beans and adding some hot spices such as cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes to give it a little kick. I think it would be good. I thought of this after making the recipe with the lima beans.
