SKILLET SPANISH RICE
1 lb lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
1 cup uncooked rice
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 (8 oz) tomato sauce
1 1/2 cups water
Cook beef, onion and green pepper in large skillet over medium heat; drain fat.
Stir in uncooked rice, chili powder, salt, pepper, tomato sauce and 1 1/2 cups water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 15 to 20 minutes or until rice is tender.
Makes 6 servings
