Recipe: Slow Cooker Chocolate Fudge Sauce with Variations - Chocolate-Orange Sauce and Fudge Sauce for Ice Cream

SLOW COOKER CHOCOLATE FUDGE

12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips or semisweet chocolate broken
into small pieces
1 (1-ounce) square unsweetened chocolate, chopped
2/3 cup heavy (whipping) cream (or half-and-half)
1 teaspoon vanilla

In a 1 1/2-quart electric slow cooker, combine chocolates and cream.

Cover crock pot and cook on the LOW heat setting about 1 1/4 hours, stirring twice, until mixture is melted, smooth and hot. Stir in vanilla.

Serve hot or warm over ice cream, sorbet, fruits and/or cake. Or use as fondue for dipping fresh fruit pieces, large marshmallows and
cake cubes.

VARIATIONS:

FOR CHOCOLATE-ORANGE SAUCE:
Stir in 1 tablespoon grated orange peel along with the vanilla.

FOR A CHEWIER FUDGE SAUCE FOR ICE CREAM:
Stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons light corn syrup with the vanilla.

Makes about 1 3/4 cups
