Recipe(tried): Speedy Spaghetti for Sheila, Lapeer, MI

Main Dishes - Pasta, Sauces
Since you are from Michigan, this might be the recipe you are looking for; it comes from the old Consumers Power home ec. department. The spaghetti turns out a little sticky but my kids used to love it that way.

SPEEDY SPAGHETTI

1 pound ground beef
1-1/2 oz. envelope spaghetti sauce mix
1/2 cup water
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1 can (28 oz.) tomatoes
1/3 cup minced onion
1/3 cup diced green pepper
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 package (7 oz.) thin spaghetti, uncooked

Place ground beef in electric skillet and flatten until it covers the bottom of the pan in a thin layer. Combine spaghetti sauce mix, water, tomato sauce, tomatoes, onion, green pepper, salt and pepper. Add the spaghetti and the tomato mixture in layers, on top of the meat, being sure that the spaghetti is well moistened. Cover and cook at 250 deg. for 20 minutes. Break up meat and mix before serving. Yield: 6 servings

Note: I have made this on the stovetop setting the burner at medium low.
