Yield: 4 servings

1 bunch fresh broccoli, stems trimmed, cut into florets, or 1 (16-ounce) bag
broccoli florets, rinsed
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 clove garlic, peeled and bruised with side of knife
1 dash crushed red pepper flakes

Heat 1 inch water to boiling in large wide saucepan. Add vegetable steamer and broccoli. Cover; steam until broccoli is crisp-tender, about 5 minutes. Remove steamer. Discard water; wipe pan dry.

Add olive oil and garlic to pan. Cook over low heat until garlic begins to sizzle. Cook until golden, about 2 minutes. Add crushed red pepper.

Add broccoli; stir-fry just until coated and broccoli is heated through, about 2 minutes. Discard garlic. Serve at once.
