Yield: 4 cups

2 1/2 cups sliced fresh berries
1 1/2 cups water
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. grated lemon rind
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 cup ginger ale
Garnish: fresh strawberries

Place sliced strawberries in container of an electric blender; process 30 seconds. Add water and next 3 ingredients; blend until smooth. Stir in ginger ale. Serve over crushed ice. Garnish, if desired.
