Recipe: Stuffed Steak Roll (using round steak and ham)

Main Dishes - Beef and Other Meats
STUFFED STEAK ROLL

1 1/2 pounds round steak
1/2 pound sliced ham from the deli
6 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (10 1/2 ounces) condensed beef broth
1/2 cup red wine

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Remove bone and excess fat from round steak. Pound steak on both sides to tenderize meat. Arrange ham slices evenly over steak.

Blend cream cheese and garlic in bowl and spread over ham slices. Gently roll the steak tightly. Secure meat by wrapping with string and place in 9x13-inch baking dish.

In a bowl, combine broth and wine; pour over steak roll.

Bake for 30 minutes basting occasionally.

Makes 6 servings
