TASTY PORK CHOPS
3 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 pounds end pork chops
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1/2 bay leaf
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 cup water
Melt butter in heavy skillet; add the pork chops and brown on both sides.
Add seasonings, buttermilk and bay leaf; reduce heat and simmer gently until chops are tender, about 1 1/2 hours.
Make gravy just before serving. Blend flour with water until a smooth paste is formed. Add the paste to the meat liquid and stir constantly until gravy is thickened.
Serves 6
