Hi Anne - There are many ways to make Waldorf Salad, each being slightly different. Here are three tried-and-true recipes previously posted here on The Recipe Link. Hope they help.

Waldorf Salad [From Cali/CA]
2 red eating apples
1 green eating apple
1 Tbsp. freshly squeezed lemom juice
1 C. thinly sliced celery1 C. walnuts, coarsely chopped & toasted (if desired)
1/2 C. raisins (if desired)
1/2 C. good quality mayonnaise
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Chop apples into 1/2 inch dice & put into medium mixing bowl. Immediately sprinkle with the lemon juice & toss to coat. Add celery, walnuts & raisins. In small bowl combine mayonnaise, sugar & vanilla, pour over apple mixture & stir well to combine. Chill.

AMBROSIA WALDORF SALAD [By Judy/AZ]
2 cups fresh or frozen cranberry halves
1/2 cup sugar
3 cups miniature marshmallows
2 cups diced unpeeled apples
1 cup seedless green grape halves
3/4 cup chopped pecans
1 can (20 ounces) pineapple tidbits, drained
1 cup heavy cream, whipped
Shredded or flaked coconut
combine cranberries and sugar. In a large bowl, combine the marshmallows, apples, grapes, pecans and pineapple. Add cranberries and mix well. Fold in whipped cream. Cover and chill. Sprinkle with coconut before serving. Yield: 12-14 servings.

1 c. of chopped celery
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1/4 c. real mayonnaise
1 T. sugar
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
dash salt
1/2 c. heavy cream, whipped
Combine apple, celery and nuts in bowl.
Blend sugar, mayonnaise,lemon juice and
salt. Fold into whipped cream. Fold thismixture into salad, chill. Serves 6.
Variations: add 1 c. seedless grapes and
1/2 c. chopped Asian pears - double dressing
recipe.
