Recipe(tried): Yes, Akram, I had done a similar dish before, but I make the crumbs
Misc.myself. It is so easy & less expensive than the ready made ones. Here is how I make my crumbs:
Bread Crumbs in a Blender (for stuffings & croquettes)
Tear 1 slice of bread in the blender container. Cover & blend on HIGH speed until bread is crumbed. For buttered crumbs, simply butter the slice before tearing it into the container.
2 slices of bread = 1 cup crumbs.
Regarding adding cheese to your crumbs, this is the easy way to do it:
Crumb bread & cheese for au gratin toppings:
Tear 1 slice of breadinto container. Add 1/4 cup diced Parmesan, Swiss, Gruyere or Cheddar. Cover & BLEND at high speed until bread is crumbed. Repeat as needed.
I also enjoy adding cheese to everything, if possible.
Good luck with the recipe. If you are planning on improvising try it at least once before your Brunch activity.
