Recipe(tried): Zwtschgenknodel (Plum Dumplimgs)

Have made Plum Dumplings, that were cooked in this fashions years ago, mom made them by rolling the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface. About 1/4 inch thick or less, and then cut squares''placed a plum in the center of each square, with about 1/2 tablespoon sugar (white), and a dot of butter. pulled up and pinched securely the sides on each dumpling then carefully placed them into the boiling salted water. When rose to top took out with a slotted spoon, and drizzled each dumpling outside with melted butter again..A treat I almost forgot..
