Recipe: Kartoffelklosse (German Potato Dumplings)

KARTOFFELKLOSSE (German potato dumplings)

2 c cooked, grated, and cooled potatoes
1 tbsp melted shortening
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp flour
1 beaten egg
1/4 tsp nutmeg

Combine and shape into balls. Heat a large suacepan of water to boiling. Lower heat nad simmer dumblings 15 minutes. When dumplings are done, they rise to the top. Serve with butter or gravy.
