ISO: chocolate half a way cookies

Misc.

When I was little my "Mom" made a special kind of cookie for us kids. She called it "Chocolate half a way cookies". It was like a pressed cookie, which had chocolate chips, butter, milk. She pressed it into a rectangle baking pan. The top consisted of a mixture of whipped meringue and brown sugar. This was poured on top sparingly. It was so good.

The receipe came out in the 1950's or 1960's.

Please can anyone help?????
