ISO: Dobosh cake?

A dear friend of mine is an American who speaks fondly of a cake that her family used to make. She calls it a "Dobosh" cake although that could just be the way it sounds with her accent. Anyway, I have tried searching for the recipe but can find no links. Does anyone out there know what kind of cake this would be and where I would get the recipe?
