ISO: how do i get rid of gnats, I have cleaned every thing and they keep coming back

Help please,
every time i go in my kitchen in my basement apartment I find gnats all aroung my sink, and bread. I have ruined several loafs. Killing 20 daily each time i enter the kitchen I find more. I don't know where they are coming from. Help me get rid of them tried vinger nothing
