ISO: white non-yeast bread made in an iron skillet
Misc.My brother has been searching for years for a recipe for a skillet bread our mother used to make. It was a white flatbread mixed and cooked (baked?) in a black iron skillet. None of us ever made it ourselves, and the recipe was lost when she died, if there ever was an actual recipe. We ate it hot from the skillet with butter. My brother does not think it had cornmeal in it; but I remember a box of white cornmeal in the cupboard, and I don't remember her making anything else with it. Does this ring a bell for anyone?
Thanks, Chris
