Thank You: Yes, that's the name!! I can still smell it -

Misc.
Isn't it funny how your brain can "remember" a smell that you haven't smelled in 40 years!! Thanks, MED for remembering the name for me. Remember Lava soap for the hands that had the grit in it? That was a basement soap, too!

My mother always used a sprinkling bottle, too - you brought back a very vivid memory of her standing at the old white porcelain table with the slide-under leafs, sprinkling all our clothes (cotton, I'm sure) with that bottle - it was clear glass, with a cork and aluminum top with tiny holes in it. I remember as a child standing next to her and thinking the sound of the water hitting the clothes as she shook the bottle was a "neat" sound. I loved that sound and also can remember it as tho it were yesterday! Thanks for the memories -

I remember how every once in awhile as she passed my Dad's white shirts thru the ringer, a button would pop and fly off across the basement!

On Cape Cod, I have a small drying line and have one of those old-fashioned clothespin bags with the old clothespins in it. Last summer, a mother bird built a next inside it, and I couldn't use it!!

Love, June
